Apa itu Tajwid?

Tajwid secara bahasa merupakan serapan dari bahasa arab yang berasal dari kata

جوّد - يجوّد - تجويدا  

yang memiliki arti bagus atau membaguskan.

Sedangkan secara istilah Tajwid merupakan mengeluarkan huruf dari tempatnya dengan memberikan sifat-sifat yang dimilikinya. Jadi ilmu tajwid adalah suatu ilmu yang mempelajari bagaimana tata cara membunyikan atau mengucapkan huruf-huruf yang terdapat dalam AL-Qur’an.

Adapun masalah-masalah yang dikemukakan dalam ilmu ini adalah makharijul huruf (tempat keluar-masuk huruf), shifatul huruf (cara pengucapan huruf), ahkamul huruf (hubungan antar huruf), ahkamul maddi wal qasr (panjang dan pendek ucapan), ahkamul waqaf wal ibtida’ (memulai dan menghentikan bacaan).

Inilah yang dimaksud dengan membaca al-Qur’an dengan tartil sebagaimana firman-Nya:

وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلًا

yang artinya : “dan bacalah AL-Qur’an itu dengan tartil (perlahan-lahan) - AL Muzammil:4”. Sedangkan arti tartil menurut Ibn Katsir adalah membaca dengan perlahan-lahan dan hati-hati karena hal itu akan membantu pemahaman serta perenungan terhadap al-Qur’an. Oleh karena itu, Ilmu Tajwid bertujuan untuk memberikan tuntunan bagaimana cara pengucapan ayat AL-Qur'an secara tepat, sehingga lafal dan maknanya terpelihara dengan baik.

Adapun Pengetahuan tentang makhraj huruf yaitu memberikan tuntunan bagaimana cara mengeluarkan huruf dari mulut dengan benar. Kemudian pengetahuan tentang sifat huruf berguna dalam pengucapan huruf, dan ahkamul maddi wal qashr berguna untuk mengetahui huruf yang harus dibaca panjang dan berapa harakat panjang bacaannya, serta yang terakhir adalah Ahkamul waqaf wal ibtida’ yaitu cara untuk mengetahui dimana harus berhenti dan dari mana dimulai apabila bacaan akan dilanjutkan.

Tajwid is the origin of language in Arabic

جوّد - يجوّد - تجويدا  

meaning good or make it good.

While colloquially Tajwid is issuing letters of place by providing properties that it owns. So the science of recitation is a science that studies how to emit or utter the letters contained in the Qur'an.
As for the issues raised in this science is makharijul huruf (place of transitions of the letter), shifatul huruf (pronunciation characters), ahkamul huruf (relationships between characters), ahkamul maddi wal qasr (long and short sayings), ahkamul waqaf wal ibtida’ (start and stop reading).

This is what is meant by reading the Qur'an with tartil as his word:

وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلًا

which means: "and read Quran with the tartil (slowly)-AL Muzammil: 4". Whereas according to Ibn Kathir tartil meaning is read slowly and carefully because it will help the understanding and devotion towards the Qur'an. Therefore, the science of Tajwid aims to give guidance how to pronunciation of the verses of the Qur'an properly, so the pronunciation and the meaning is well maintained.
As for knowledge of makharijul huruf i.e. give guidance how to issue a letter from mouth properly. Then knowledge about shifatul huruf is useful in the pronunciation of the letters, and ahkamul maddi wal qasr useful to know the letters to read long and how long he read Arabic diacritics, as well as the last one was ahkamul waqaf wal ibtida’ that is how to know where to stop and where it started if the readings will resume.

Tidak akan kembali hari-hari yang telah lewat

مَنْ يَزْرَعْ يَحْصُدْ

Barang siapa menanam pasti akan memetik hasilnya (mengetam)
Whoever planted will surely plucking the result

وَمَااللَّذَّةُ إِلاَّ بَعْدَ التَّعَبِ

Tiada kenikmatan kecuali setelah kepayahan
There is no enjoyment except after hard

جَرِّبْ وَلاَحِظْ تَكُنْ عَارِفًا

Cobalah dan perhatikan niscaya kau jadi orang yang tahu
Try it and consider then you will be know

الصَّبْرُ يُعِيْنُ عَلىَ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ

Sabar itu menolong segala pekerjaan
Wait it helped all the work

مَنْ قَلَّ صِدْقُهُ قَلَّ صَدِيْقُهُ

Barang siapa sedikit benarnya maka sedikit pulalah temannya
Anyone who is a little point then a bit also her friend

سُوْءُ الخُلُقِ يُعْدِي

Kelakuan yang jelek itu menular

Ugly behaviour is contagious
